Affectionately known by those that loved him as: Lar, Leroy, or Grandpa, Larry left the world peacefully, at home, with his daughter and granddaughter, lovingly, by his side, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Larry was born on November 9, 1962 to Louie Alfonse Flament and Betty Irene Majors Flament, in Hemet California. A few short years after his birth, his family relocated to Rupert, Idaho, where they ultimately decided to make Rupert their permanent home. Larry grew up in the Minidoka area and constantly kept his parents on their toes with his mischievous antics and several near death experiences throughout his adolescent and teenage years. He was always raising some cane in the name of fun. Larry attended schools in Rupert but only attended a few short years at Minico High School when he chose to leave school early in order to pursue work. Larry did proudly accomplish earning his GED later on.
In late 1980, Larry met his future wife, Doreen Kay Hall. The two married in the LDS church on December 12, 1981. On this day, Larry not only chose to become a husband, but he also chose to become the father to Doreen's two year old daughter, TeAnna Lanae Hall. TeAnna loved Larry and Larry most definitely loved TeAnna. On August 8, 1983, Larry and Doreen welcomed their first child together, a daughter, Kiley Dawn Flament. Although they were expecting a boy, Kiley made her strong-willed, sassy, appearance in the world and she made their family complete.
With a family to support, Larry took a job with Evan's Grain in Burley, Idaho, where he worked for several years until he then decided to follow in the footsteps of his father-in-law, and took the leap to obtain his CDL. This led Larry to a job, driving truck, for Magic Valley Foods in Rupert, Idaho, where he was able to work for years alongside several of his in-laws that he considered friends. After receiving his hazmat and tanker endorsements, Larry did a short stint of long haul truck driving. He decided that spending long stretches of time away from his family, his home and his friends wasn't something he wanted for his life, so he willingly took a local job with Kloepfer Concrete in Paul, Idaho. After several years with Kloepfer, Larry was able to move into the position of hauling oil from Utah to the Idaho asphalt locations. Larry devoted 14 years of his career to Kloepfer's and when he left the job, it was the end of his truck driving career. After the passing of his wife in 2015, Larry eventually moved to Texas to be with his girls and spent the last 10 years of his life being the best Dad and Grandpa that he could be.
Those that had the opportunity to know Larry knew that he was a man of few words, but his personality certainly spoke for him! He was always down to have a "good time," or go on adventures, as we called them, with his girls and grandkids. Larry loved a good yard sale or auction and lived for buying treasures. He was always first to show up to help someone out and no project was ever too big, he always found a way to fix whatever was broken. He never missed an opportunity to support his grandkids, rather it be band concerts, animal shows, practices, games, school programs, or parties. He may have always been hiding in a corner, or sitting in the back of the room, but he was always there for his girls, grandkids and the people he loved and cared about. His quiet presence will be deeply missed.
Larry is survived by his daughters, TeAnna Hall-Shelton and Kiley Flament, son-in-law, Matt Shelton, grandchildren, Gentry Hall, Hadley Flament, Kopelan Flament, Kohen Flament and bonus grandchildren, Niko Hathaway, Kyleen Hunter, Cheyenne Hunter and Kaidyn Shelton, as well as numerous nieces andnephews. and sisters and brothers-in-law.
Larry is preceded in death by both of his parents, Louie and Betty Flament, wife, Doreen Flament, brother-in-law, Dan Wilcox, father and mother-in-law, John and Verlee Hall, and his best buddy, and grandson, Kaizyn Flament.
